Philippine’s face, 24 years old Kylie Verzosa was crowned Miss International 2016, in an event which held in Tokyo, Japan. This came barely a year after another Filipina beauty, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach took home the Miss Universe crown.

The beauty queen edged out other queens from Australia, Indonesia, Nicaragua, and the USA, to clinch the crown. With her victory, Verzosa took over from Venezuela’s Edymar Martínez until 2017.

Emerging top among girls from 65 countries that entered this year’s contest, Verzosa is expected to be a global Ambassador of Peace and Beauty.

The 5’7” tall beauty with vital stats of 32- 25-32 Kylie was crowned Binibining Pilipinas International in April 2016. With that, she was set to represent the Philippines at the Miss International 2016 pageant. Immediately she was crowned, so many people believed she had the stamina to clinch the Miss International crown.

Kylie Verzosa is a graduate of Business management for the Ateneo de Manila University. she graduated in 2013.

While she was a model, with the Professional Models Association of the Philippines. The association which is renowned in the country helps in training Filipina beauty queens. Among members of this Association are Jennifer Hammond and Maxine Medina.

While Jeniffer Hammond ended up among the Top 15 of the Miss Intercontinental 2016 pageant earlier this month, Maxima Medina is Philippines’ bet in the upcoming Miss Universe 2016 pageant, in January 2017.

In Baguio City, Kylie Verzosa worked as a preschool teacher. She was also a volunteer for the Natasha Goulbourn Foundation. The foundation aims at educating people on depression and suicide.

She believes culture, education, and international understanding are important to the global community, and to these times. She also believes that beauty is not only physical but also mental, which is her advice to youths, as she calls them to study hard.

Verzosa was not the first in her family to take a shot at the Bb. Pilipinas. In fact, her mother, Gemma Raquel Fausto was once a contestant. In 1985, Fausto ended up among the top fifteen contestants. Exactly thirty years later, her daughter would end in the same fashion, only to go ahead and bring an international crown a year later.

The interesting twist is that during the Bb. Pilipinas Pageant, kylie was given number 12, the same number her mother used 30 years ago. Also, her main challenger during the contest, Mia Allyson Hernandez, was a daughter to her mother’s main challenger in her days.

Kylie Vezosa is the sixth Filipina to wear the Miss International crown. The first was Gemma Cruz in 1964, then Aurora Pijuan in 1970. Others are Melanie Marquez (1979), Precious Lara Quigaman (2005), and Bea Santiago (2013).

With Six Miss International titles, only Venezuela has more than Philippine; seven.

At the moment, she is single. Beautiful and single. Whether or not she will want to hook up, is another thing.
